Sometimes even finding the support that is right for you can feel overwhelming.
If you think you might be a carer but aren't sure, or you'd like to talk to someone about the support available for you, you can contact Camden Carers, who will be happy to help, or just be there to listen to you.
Camden Carers is a voluntary organisation that provides specialist support to carers living in Camden. Services they offer include:
- Support and Wellbeing checks to including emotional support and specialist advice around caring responsibilities;
- Counselling with a trained counsellor to talk things over;
- Health and Lifestyle support to help with checking in on your own health and;
- Financial Support such as advice with benefits.
Camden Carers are able to provide services on the telephone and email. They can be contacted on 020 7428 8950, and [email protected]. Camden Carers Service is also the gateway to a wide range of support that other local organisations offer to carers in Camden.
Camden Carers also offer the opportunity to connect with other people who may be sharing a similar experience of caring. Many people find that having this community in Camden, whether in person or online, is a valuable aspect of their support.
forum+ is an independent charity working to promote equality for LGBT+ people in Camden & Islington. forum+ organises social groups and events that celebrate local LGBT+ life and offers a special support service for carers.
QUEERCIRCLE is an LGBTQIA+ led charity dedicated to fostering holistic well‑being through the power of arts, creativity, health, and social action. The British Somali Community Centre (BSCC) can provide support to unpaid carers through its trusted community-based advice and support services. BSCC offers assistance with welfare and housing advice, health and wellbeing support, advocacy, and help navigating systems, including overcoming language and digital barriers where needed. They are a well-established community organisation supporting Somali and wider Black and Minority Ethnic communities across Camden and neighbouring boroughs.
