Deaf or Hard of Hearing people who use British Sign Language (BSL) can contact Camden Council using our SignVideo Web Access, an online sign language interpreting service. The service requires a webcam.  It is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

There are organisations and agencies working together across Camden to safeguard adults from harm.

If you or someone you know have been affected by crime or abuse there are people who can help and there are things that you can do to help protect yourself.

By being aware of any safety issues that might affect you either inside the home or outside means you can take steps to make sure you stay as safe as possible. This includes what precautions you can take to help prevent any risks to your safety and where to go to for advice.

What will happen if I report a safeguarding concern?

  • the first thing we will do is to contact the person being abused. We will work with them to investigate the allegations and to make any decisions.
  • Camden adult social care and partner organisations will work together with the person being abused to put in place a protection plan to help them stop the abuse.
  • we will provide help and advice on how the person being abused can keep safe and prevent abuse from happening again.
  • where abuse is definitely a criminal activity, the police may take legal action against the abuser.

The information on this page is about safeguarding adults in Camden. If you are worried about the welfare of a child or young person, there is information on the bottom of the next page on what to do next.
