Freedom Pass scam website alert

London Councils is aware that a website is offering Freedom Pass applications. The website, freedom-pass.co.uk, collects the customers personal information and then asks for a payment of £39.90.

Applying for a Freedom Pass is always free (the fee for replacement cards is £12) and the only official website is www.freedompass.org

The scam website has been reported to the National Cyber Security Centre and to Google. If you have been affected by this scam, please contact Action Fraud UK

Taxicard

A Taxicard provides subsidised transport for London residents who have serious mobility requirement and difficulty in using public transport.

Taxicard holders can make journeys in licensed London taxis and private hire vehicles.

PlusBus Door-to-Door

The PlusBus Door-to-Door scheme provides an accessible minibus service for Camden residents of any age who find it difficult to use public transport.

The service provides door-to-door transport Monday to Friday 8.30am to 4.30pm to destinations anywhere within the London Borough of Camden.

To be eligible you must be:

  • a permanent resident in Camden
  • in receipt of disability living allowance, attendance allowance, war pensioners' mobility supplement, or are registered blind or partially sighted or have a BD8/CVI certificate

Registered Disabled Card

A Registered Disabled Card provides proof that you are Registered Disabled by Camden Council in accordance with the Department for Transport guidance and relevant Local Authority disabled transport criteria.

Having a Registered Disabled Card provides a simple approach to accessing concessions or facilities available for disabled people.

ScootAbility

ScootAbility is a scheme that loans out vehicles, such as scooters and power chairs to residents in Camden and Islington.

Membership is free and loans may be for one day, or up to 7 days.

To be eligible:

  • you must be at least 16 years
  • have a mobility impairment

Disabled Persons Freedom PassThe Disabled Persons Freedom Pass allows free travel across London and free bus journeys nationally

To be eligible:

  • your sole or main residence must be in London and
  • you must have any of the statutory disabilities listed in the Transport Act 2000

Blue Badge parking for disabled people

The Blue Badge scheme is available to drivers or passengers whose mobility requirements are hidden, such as non-physical disabilities.

The scheme allows you to park close to your destination that is outside of the West End area

If you need to park within the busy West End area, you are required to apply for a Blue Badge AND a Green Badge (further details are below).

Green Badge parking for disabled people

The Green Badge scheme is available to drivers or passengers whose mobility requirements are hidden, such as non-physical disabilities.

Having a Green Badge allows you to use your Blue Badge to park close to your destination that is within the busy West End where demand for parking space is high.

To be eligible:

  • you must hold a valid Blue Badge

and

  • live in the Green Badge area

or

  • work or study full time or part time in the Green Badge area

Older Persons Freedom Pass

The Freedom Pass for older people allows free travel across London and free local bus journeys in England.

To be eligible:

  • your sole or main residence must be in London and
  • you must meet the eligibility age which is in line with the women's state pension age.

60+ London Oyster photocard

The 60+ London Oyster Pass allows allows free travel on buses, Tube, tram, DLR, London Overground and most National Rail services in London.

Pass holders also get a discounted fare on River services and the Emirates Air Line.

60+ Oyster pass holders are not entitled to free travel on services outside of London.

To be eligible:

  • your sole or main residence must be in London and
  • you must be over 60 but not yet eligible for an Older Persons Freedom Pass
