Camden and Islington Wheelchair Service

The Camden and Islington Wheelchair Service is for children and adults who are registered with a Camden or Islington General Practitioner (GP) and who have a permanent disability that affects their mobility.

We provide support with mobility issues by supplying manual and powered wheelchairs, buggies and specialist seating services. Wheelchairs provided by the service are maintained and repaired free of charge by approved repairers.

The service takes a person-centred approach and we place a  high emphasis on choice and education.

We run a Camden and Islington Wheelchair Users Group, which meets quarterly. We also offer a voucher scheme to enable individuals to purchase a wheelchair of their choice.

To be referred to the service, please speak to your GP or another health or social care professional, eg. a consultant, nurse, physiotherapist, occupational therapist or social worker.
