Camden Handyperson Service

The Camden Handyperson Service is provided by MTVH (Metropolitan Thames Valley Housing).  You do not need to be an MTVH resident to use the service.

Who the service is for

The Handyperson Service is for Camden residents that:

  • are over 65
  • have a disability or sensory impairment that restricts your functioning on a day to day basis
  • have a learning disability
  • have a mental health condition
  • have a long term illness
  • provide unpaid care for another adult or disabled child


What services are offered:

  • a range of minor repairs and maintenance free of charge
  • a number of home improvements jobs that are chargeable

 

Examples of minor repairs and maintenance that are offered free of charge include:

  • home security assessment/equipment
  • child safety assessment/equipment
  • unblocking sinks
  • measure or put up curtains
  • repairs to door handles
  • leaking toilet investigation
  • leaking kitchen sink investigation
  • flat pack furniture for a vulnerable tenant moving into sheltered accommodation

 

Jobs that are chargeable

If you require home improvements, there is a £12.50 hourly charge, in addition to cost of materials.

Examples of chargeable jobs are:

  • replacing taps
  • flat packing furniture
  • moving items for collection
  • putting up pictures or mirrors

 

How to apply for the Handyperson Service

If you meet any of the criteria listed at the top of this page, and require free minor repairs and maintenance, or chargeable home improvements, apply directly to MTVH as below:
