Improving access to information

Accessibility update: removal of ReachDeck toolbar

From the 29th October 2025, we will no longer be using the ReachDeck toolbar on the Camden Care Choices website. This decision follows strong recommendations from disability advocacy groups, who advise against relying on overlay technologies like ReachDeck that might conflict with users’ own devices such as screen readers.

Instead, they encourage organisations to focus on making core web pages fully accessible and compatible with users’ devices and assistive technologies. We are committed to this approach and are working to ensure our website meets high accessibility standards for everyone.

If you have any accessibility needs or require support to access information on our website, please contact us at [email protected].

Using accessibility features on Camden Care Choices

To support a wide range of users, Camden Care Choices offers three accessibility tools located at the top of every page. These features are designed to make the website easier to use and navigate. Here's how each one works:

  • Font size
Click the larger “A” icon at the top of the page to increase the text size. You can click it multiple times until the text reaches a comfortable reading level.
  • High contrast mode
Select the dark “C” icon to switch the website to high contrast mode. This changes the colour scheme to improve visibility, especially for users with visual impairments.
  • Language translation
Use the language dropdown menu to translate the website content into your preferred language. Please note that this feature uses Google Translate, which may not always capture the full meaning of the original text.
