Essential transport and travel

Contact Camden Council's  COVID-19 Helpline if you are concerned about necessary journeys and staying safe

Telephone: 020 7974 4000 (option 9)

Older and vulnerable people are advised to stay indoors for 12 weeks. However there may be times when travel is essential, for example to attend a hospital appointment. When leaving the house people must observe social distancing rules at all times.

The Taxicard, Blue Badge and Freedom Pass schemes are all operating. People who currently access these schemes will be contacted regarding renewal. If you have enquiries about these schemes or accessible transport generally please call 020 7974 4000 (option 4).

The London Taxicard scheme has introduced extra services for customers who can now use their Taxicard for:

  • picking up and delivering essential supplies; and
  • friends and family to travel in a customer’s place using their Taxicard for the same purpose

Visit the London Councils website on Taxicard changes for futher details.
