Extra care housing

Extra care housing is a form of care and support for people age 55 and over to live independently in their own home, whilst maintaining their privacy within an accommodation-based setting.  This type of housing is designed to support you to live an active, independent and fulfilling life. 

Care staff are on hand 24 hours a day, seven days-a-week, to help support you if and when you need them.

If you have care needs you might be able to get help with the cost. You might also be able to get housing benefit and council tax exemption. The Access and Response team can help you fill out a financial assessment to see if you are eligible.
