CQC assurance

The Care Quality Commission (CQC) is currently assessing Camden Council’s adult social care services, to ensure they meet required standards and residents' needs through quality care and support.

The CQC is an independent body that:

  • Monitors and regulates health and social care services in England.
  • Ensures these services are safe, effective, and compassionate.

To achieve this, the CQC:

  • Regularly checks hospitals, care homes, GP practices, and other services.
  • Makes sure they meet safety and quality standards.

CQC's responsibilities include:

  • Setting standards for care services.
  • Taking action against services that don't comply, such as issuing warnings or fines.
  • Gathering opinions from people and families to inform assessments and improve services.

The impact of CQC's work:

  • Ensures care services continue to improve and stay accountable.
  • Protects people.
  • Provides the public with confidence in the care they receive.

Residents can:

  • Share their experiences with health and social care services directly with the CQC.
  • This feedback helps ensure that community voices are heard.

The CQC is currently:

  • Assessing Camden Council’s adult social care services.
  • Ensuring they meet required standards and residents' needs through quality care and support.

During the assessment, the CQC will:

  • Gather evidence, including case studies.
  • Speak with Camden residents, services, and Adult Social Care staff.

After the assessment, the CQC will:

  • Publish a report outlining strengths and areas for improvement.
  • Require Camden Council to address any issues and make improvements if necessary.

The CQC's inspection is crucial for ensuring the highest quality of care for residents in Camden.

The CQC will inspect all Council’s using the quality domains in the CQC single assessment framework.
